We review the Giant Defy 2 beginner road bike. Giant Defy 2 £799 giant-bicycles.com. The Defy has been one of our favourite mid-price machines in recent years, but Giant certainly isn’t taking anything for granted. The 2012 bike gets a completely new frameset and is now lighter, more responsive and gives an even smoother benchmark-setting ride.

The bike on review here though, is the 2018 entry-level Defy, the Advanced 2 with its striking neon green and black livery; it’s a bright and vibrant, confident look; one that suits the nature of this bike.
